Take chances

The weather network forecasted 15-30mm of rain today.

I didn’t plan on going out and was going to work and relax at home. But then I saw a break in the clouds and quickly went out to walk Moochi while lugging my telephoto. Dyke was pretty empty. Everyone had a similar idea of staying home.

I saw this beautiful girl rummaging around in the distant logs just as the sun glimpsed through the clouds. She pounced and leaped a few times in search of her breakfast, but unfortunately, it was elusive.

My video skills are not up to snuff. Hand holding at 800mm, even with in-body stabilization and lens stablization is extremely difficult. Apologies for the shaky video. My next purchase is a gimbal head tripod.

Nature wasn’t done showing off either. Right as I was filming this beautiful coyote, I heard the piercing melody of a bald eagle. I quickly looked up and held down the autofocus & shutter. 2, maybe 3 seconds later, I captured 80+ images of what probably are my best bald eagle flying shots.

Still not satisfied, Richmond continues her visual display. On the way back, I glimpsed this beautiful red wing black bird singing the background chorus of Richmond.

Therefore take chances. Even when you don’t want to, or it seems futile. You never know. Whatever you are trying to do, just keep doing it, and the odds will improve.
