Lucky 8/8

I know I’m writing this on 8/9 but yesterday was 8/8 and an auspicious day according to Chinese calendar. Lucked out with some good wildlife shots.

Started the morning by snapping a few decent pics of hawks and herons at the dyke and then proceeded to head down to delta where the wife said she saw posts on instagram about marmots.

These little guys are super cute and chunky. I guess the locals have been feeding them and now they are accustomed to food from humans. Around their den are vegetables, nuts and other snacks that people have left them. Dont really condone that, but understandable considering how cute they are

After a brief respite, we headed down to port moody for marine life

While this mother and baby were resting on these logs, a pleasure craft came by and the wake disturbed their peaceful rest. The mother was not happy and noticeably soured her disposition.
