Wrong lens, right time

Beautiful day. Temps were spring-like and only a slight breeze. Perfect photography weather.

We went out with the intention of taking some Chinese new year photos for ms moo. I brought the r7 with my 45mm f1.2 portrait lens.

Ms moo looks great in her Chinese New Year coat

While taking some shots of ms moo, saw this tiny little thing buzzing around the bush.

If only i had my 100-400 or even better, my 200-800

This shot is incredible, I didnt know it was going for a bug.

45mm is way too wide for what I need to do. I cropped these images, and they are essentially 10-20% of the overall image captured. Thank goodness my R7 has enough resolution that even after cropping, the images are still remotely usable.

Compared to what my wife shot on her iphone 16 pro. Not bad to be honest, good enough for most people’s needs.
