Discovered a new pack!
Beautiful family
Incredibly fortunate this morning! I went out around 730am, the sun was barely rising above the horizon, and the dyke was empty. I spotted a pack of coyotes on the golf course, leisurely strolling. These were quite different than the usual southern dyke coyotes.
Led by the rare black and white alpha male and the more traditional colored female. They had two pups running around. The pups resemble their father closely. I researched and found out that black and white markings on coyotes are extremely rare
Alpha pair. Mum was not happy the pups were too far away
Pups playing in the sand bunker
Pups were very curious.
Closeup of the alpha female
The resemblance to dogs is uncanny.
Closeup of one of the pups. beautiful coat, could easily be mistaken for a husky
Pups lagging behind
Coyotes are very territorial. I hope they dont end up in conflict with the southern dyke pack (who seem much larger in size). Interesting times as its currently denning season.
